Curtis Adams (born April 30, 1962 in Muskegon, Michigan) played running back for the Central Michigan Chippewas where he set multiple records for the division 1 school: (1) most net yards gained rushing in a single game (238); (2) most rushing touchdowns in a single game;(3) longest run from scrimmage (87); (4) career rushing yards (4,126) [3rd most in MAC history]; and (5) most career touchdowns (44) which also set an all time Mid American Conference record. Curtis was second team All-American UPI and MAC "Offensive Player of the Year" in 1982...first team all-conference three straight years. Curtis gained 1,090, 1,431 and 1,204 yards in his final three seasons. Curtis is a product of Muskegon Orchard View High School in Michigan. Drafted in the 8th round of the 1985 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers; Curtis went on to play five years in the NFL totaling 907 yards, 7 rushing touchdowns and 76 yards on 9 receptions. Curtis was hailed as one of the finest tailbacks in the history of Central Michigan University and the Mid-American Conference. Curtis's single best game as an NFL Professional came on a Nationally televised Thursday night game of the week on November 20th 1986 against the Los Angeles Raiders. Although the Chargers lost, Curtis almost single handedly will his team to victory by rushing 26 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns.
