The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) (Croatian: Hrvatski nogometni savez; HNS) is the governing body of football in Croatia. Based in the capital city of Zagreb, the federation is an authorized associate of both the FIFA and UEFA confederations of the sport. It was originally established in 1912 during Croatia's constituent involvement in Yugoslavia. The association was reformed on 6 August 1939. The HNS had originally joined FIFA on 17 July 1941, but this was during the short-lived Independent State of Croatia and lasted only up to the end of World War II.[1] In communist Yugoslavia, it was renamed as the Football Federation of Croatia. It rejoined FIFA in 1992[2] after Croatia gained independence in the 1990s.
