The Condesa de Chinchón (the "Countess of Chinchón")[1] was painted by Francisco Goya about 1800. It is in the Prado, Madrid. It depicts María Teresa de Borbón, 15th Countess of Chinchón, who had been encouraged by the Queen and by opportunism to marry Manuel Godoy, the Prime Minister, in a marriage of convenience.
- ^ An earlier conde de Chinchón was the European discoverer, in 1638, of the South American native remedy chinchona bark, after whom the plant and bark are named.
