Composition C is a plastic explosive consisting of RDX, other explosives, and plasticizer. It can be molded by hand for use in demolition work and packed by hand into shaped charge devices. It has more than 150% the power of T.N.T.. Because it is extremely sensitive, it is usually mixed with other substances to create a compound with the desired sensitivity and brisance properties. Examples of this are C2, C3, and C4.

The term composition is used for any stable explosive, and Composition A and Composition B are other variants.
