The Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, often abbreviated CDM, is one of fourteen graduate and professional schools of Columbia University. It is located at 630 West 168th Street in Manhattan, New York City, and is highly regarded throughout the world. The College of Dental Medicine has developed a mission possessing a "tripartite commitment: education, patient care and research."[2] Each year, approximately 75 students graduate from the DDS program at the College of Dental Medicine at Columbia.
[edit] HistoryThe Columbia University College of Dental Medicine was established in 1916 as the School of Dental and Oral Surgery, when the School became incorporated into Columbia University.[2] [edit] EducationLike most American dental schools, The College of Dental Medicine at Columbia offers the following academic programs: DDS Program Graduate Dental Education The orthodontic, periodontic and prosthodontic programs are available in both certificate and Master's degree tracts. Program for Advanced Standing Students Dual-Degree Options The College of Dental Medicine provides unique opportunities for students able to participate in a second program at Columbia University. The five programs available include a DDS/MPH program in affiliation with the Mailman School of Public Health and a DDS/MBA program in affiliation with the Graduate School of Business.
