Kensington Publishing Corp. is an American book publisher.
[edit] OverviewKensington was founded in 1974 by Walter Zacharius, formerly of Lancer Books. Steven Zacharius became president and CEO in 2005. Vice president Michael Rosamilia has been the CFO since 1989. Laurie Parkin is the vice president and publisher. Adam Zacharius, grandson of Walter, and son of Steven, works in in the family business. Kensington is a commercial trade publisher in mass market paperback, trade paperback and hardcover books. It acquired Pinnacle Books in 1988. It acquired Citadel Press in 2000, making it the focal point for Kensington's non-fiction program. In 2008 Kensington acquired the publishing assets of Holloway House. Kensington's Dafina imprint specializes in fiction and non-fiction for the African-American market and features authors such as Carl Weber, Mary Monroe, and Mary B. Morrison. A 2000s co-venture imprint with Just Us Books, called Marimba Books, features multicultural children's books. [edit] Imprints
