Scott Davis is an American semi-retired professional wrestler, better known under the ring name Cincinnati Red. He is currently working for the Empire Wrestling Federation as both a booker and a wrestler.
[edit] Professional wrestling career[edit] Early careerAfter training with Bill Anderson and Jesse Hernandez, Davis deuted under the ring name Blackjack Daniels, based on the tag team The Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza). However, Davis soon renamed himself to Cincinnati Red, his most prominent ring name. Throughout 1995, Red was a mainstay in the National Wrestling Conference and wrestled against the likes of Jim Neidhart and Rob Van Dam.[2] Red would later make two return appearances in the NWC in 1997, losing both matches.[2] [edit] Empire Wrestling Federation (1996–1998)After a few years on the independent circuit, Davis adopted his most prominent ring name: Cincinnati Red (in reference to the baseball team of the same name), and began wrestling for his trainer's new promotion, the Southern Californian-based Empire Wrestling Federation. At the EWF's debut show on May 5, 1996, Red had the distinction of wrestling in the first match in the promotion's history. He stayed with the Empire Wrestling Federation until early 1998. [edit] Impact Wrestling Federation (1998–1999)Along with Gary "Krusher" Key, Davis opened up The Grappler's Den, a wrestling school based in Oxnard, California. The Grappler's Den soon expanded into a promotion and was named th Impact Wrestling Federation. The IWF would go on to run shows within and throughout Ventura County, including Simi Valley, Oxnard, and Port Hueneme. In late 1999, Red and Key sold the IWF to fellow wrestler "Navajo Warrior" Steve Islas, who subsequently renamed the promotion to Impact Zone Wrestling. [edit] Return to EWF (2005–present)After the sale of the IWF, Davis began working on the independent circuit once again while continuing to teach in wrestling schools, with one of most notable students being future World Champion Samoa Joe. In 2005, Davis, under his Cincinnati Red ring name, returned to the Empire Wrestling Federation, where he assumed the role of a booker and promoter alongside his trainer Jesse Hernandez while also wrestling on an occasional basis. In 2006, Red won the first-ever Great Goliath Battle Royal, an annual battle royal held in honor of The Great Goliath (Pablo Crispin), who trained Hernandez. As a result of winning the match, Red was awarded both a trophy and also a match for the Heavyweight Championship. Instead, Red forfeited his title match and gave his trophy to Paloma Crispin, The Great Goliath's daughter. [edit] In wrestling[edit] Championships and accomplishments
