Holy Trinity, Sunderland — a Grade I listed church under the care and ownership of the Trust.

The Churches Conservation Trust (formerly the Redundant Churches Fund) is a registered charity founded in 1969 which looks after Church of England churches which are of architectural significance and are no longer used for regular worship. It receives core funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Church Commissioners and currently has over 340 churches in its care.

The Trust conserves and repairs all of the churches in its care and runs a range of projects to encourage greater public enjoyment and understanding of historic churches. Many of its buildings are used for community, arts and educational activities. All are still consecrated and occasional services are held in increasing numbers.

70% of the Trust's churches are in rural areas, with the remainder in small towns apart from about 10 which are in urban areas. In Bristol, for example, the Trust owns St Paul's church, a Grade I listed Georgian building in the city centre Portland Square. Saved from dereliction, the church is now run by Circomedia as a training and performance venue.

The Trust has almost 1.5m visitors to its churches every year and runs a Supporters' Scheme for those who want to support and find out more about its work.
