[edit] Biography

[edit] Career

Mintz-Plasse had no acting experience, other than drama classes in school, before appearing in Superbad. He was cast in the role of Fogell (a.k.a. "McLovin"), after auditioning with two high school friends.[1] He had no professional head shots before the audition and just took a head shot with his camera phone.[2] His mother was required by law to be on set while filming his sex scene in Superbad because he was only 17-years old at the time of filming.[3]

Mintz-Plasse next appeared opposite Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott in the David Wain film Role Models, and is performing voiceover work for the animated film How to Train Your Dragon.

In 2008, he had a cameo on Jimmy Kimmel Live, singing in the chorus during the segment "I'm Fucking Ben Affleck". He also appeared in Internet PSAs for voting and for Night of Too Many Stars, in a YouTube video known as the "Teabag Incident" (where he and his friends illustrate the dangers of teabagging), and presented the best hip-hop video with Slipknot at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

In June 2009 he made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

[edit] Personal life

Mintz-Plasse was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Ellen Mintz, a school counselor, and Ray Plasse, a mailman.[4] Mintz-Plasse is Jewish[5] and was raised in West Hills, California. He attended El Camino Real High School from 2003 to 2007, and was tutored on the set of Superbad, before going back to school for two months and graduating. He currently attends UC Riverside in California under a Media and Cultural Studies Major. On June 18th, 2009 he appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and stated that he drives a 2004 Honda Civic, which he paid half for.
