Christie's Great Estates is the real estate arm of Christie's, the fine art auction house. This wholly owned subsidiary was established in 1995 and is the largest international network of real estate brokers dedicated to luxury properties. [edit] History In 1995 to satisfy the real estate needs of Christie's clients, the auction house acquired Great Estates, founded by Kay Coughlin in 1987. The headquarters are in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with offices in Los Angeles, New York, London and Palm Beach, Florida. In 2008, the network had a total combined annual sales more than US$128 billion. The average price of homes listed is US$7.5 million, with an average sale price of US$5.3 million.
