[edit] Professional career2009 Not many professional athletes attempt to switch sports after a hall of fame career, but that's exactly what Cook attempted to do in 2009. While practicing for the World Team, Cook put on a private workout for several NFL scouts prior to the April 2009 NFL Draft. The feedback was so positive, he decided to enter his name in with a list of over a thousand eligible college football players. Although he wasn't drafted, he remains in touch with several NFL organizations. When asked what prompted the switch, Cook responded, "Being an NFL player has always been a dream of mine. I never considered trying out for the NFL until I played in an intramaural turkey bowl game several years ago in which I was running circles around guys. After that I said to myself, you're strong enough. You're fast enough. Why not you?" 2008: Played in 5 games as a defensemen recording seven ground balls on the year. Made the decision to retire at the end of the season, but left the door open to returning when he said, "The hardest thing to do as a professional athlete is to admit when its over. Do I think I'm done? Maybe." 2007: Played in seven games as a defenseman recording six ground balls on the year. WAs named to the 2007 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Team and played in the US Lacrosse Champion's Challenge. 2006: Played in all eight games for the Bayhawks during the regular season and recorded seven ground balls.
