Charlene Johnson MHA (born in Carbonear, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada) is a Canadian politician. She is currently the Newfoundland and Labrador Minister of Environment and Conservation.[1]

Charlene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and a Masters of Applied Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland.[2]

Johnson was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 2003 provincial election for the riding of Trinity-Bay de Verde. She is the youngest woman ever elected to serve in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.
Following her re-election in the 2007 provincial, she was appointed Minister of Environment and Conservation for Newfoundland and Labrador.
In April 2009 Johnson broke new ground when she became the first MHA to give birth while in office.[3]
In July 2009 Johnson was engaged to her boyfriend at a Philadelphia Phillies game.
