Cecil Redvers Griffiths (January 20, 1901 – July 29, 1945) was a Welsh athlete. [edit] Olympic Gold Medal 1920 Cecil Griffiths was a winner of the Olympic Gold medal in 4 x 400m relay at the 1920 Summer Olympics. Cecil Griffiths from Neath in Wales, made his only appearance at the Olympic Games, while running the opening leg in the British 4x400 m relay team at the Antwerp Olympics in 1920, which won the gold medal. Griffiths died in 1945, of heart failure, on Golders Green tube station, NW London, leaving a widow and two sons.
