The following values may be used for the class parameter. These are not case-sensitive:

• FA (adds articles to Category:FA-Class Japan-related articles)
• FL (adds articles to Category:FL-Class Japan-related articles)
• A (adds articles to Category:A-Class Japan-related articles)
• GA (adds articles to Category:GA-Class Japan-related articles)
• B (adds articles to Category:B-Class Japan-related articles)
• C (adds articles to Category:C-Class Japan-related articles)
• Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class Japan-related articles)
• Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class Japan-related articles)
• List (adds articles to Category:List-Class Japan-related articles)
• Book (adds articles to Category:Book-Class Japan-related articles, this is for Wikipedia:Books only)
• Dab (adds articles to Category:Disambig-Class Japan-related articles)
• Redirect (adds articles to Category:Redirect-Class Japan-related articles)
• NA (for pages where assessment is unnecessary; adds items to Category:NA-Class Japan-related articles)

If a quality rating is not assigned, the article will be filed in Category:Unassessed Japan-related articles. The class should be assigned according to the grading scheme. Articles needing to be assessed (or reassessed) can be listed and discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan/Assessment.

The following values may be used for the importance (or priority) parameter. These are not case-sensitive:

• Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance Japan-related articles)
• High (adds articles to Category:High-importance Japan-related articles)
• Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance Japan-related articles)
• Low (adds articles to Category:Low-importance Japan-related articles)

If an importance/priority rating is not assigned, the article will be filed in Category:Unknown-importance Japan-related articles. The importance/priority should be assigned according to the importance scheme. Articles needing to be assessed (or reassessed) can be listed and discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan/Assessment.
