Casio PV-100 in a cradle

The Casio Pocket Viewer 100 was a PDA manufactured by Casio in 1999, and was the first PDA in the Pocket Viewer-range, and the only pocket viewer not to have backlight.

[edit] Specifications

The screen resolution was 128 by 128 pixels, which was lower than similar Palm PDAs. The PV-100 had no text recognizing software built-in, so all text input is via an onscreen keyboard. There is 1 MB memory in it. It has a NEC V30MZ (20 MHz) cpu, compatible with Intel x86.

[edit] Applications

The PV-100 comes with these built-in applications:

  • Scheduler
  • Contacts
  • Memo
  • Expense
  • 2 types of Solitaire
  • Quick Memo
  • Calendar
  • Reminder
  • To-Do

The PDA has no support for third party applications.

An interpreter/compiler called OWBasic does however expand certain pocket viewers from a PDA into a handheld programmable pocket computer.
