Carlos Johnson (born July 10, 1984 in Cartago) is a Costa Rican soccer player who currently plays for New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.

Johnson began his career in the youth system of Cartaginés. He joined Herediano in 2004 and became one of the top right backs in Costa Rica. In his four years at the club Johnson appeared in 91 Primera División de Costa Rica games and notched 4 goals. In 2008 Johnson signed with Norwegian club Bryne, and subsequently appeared in 17 matches for the club scoring one goal, but due to the club's economic problems, he was released from his contract in early 2009.

On March 2009, Johnson signed with the New York Red Bulls, who had been seeking him since the summer transfer window. He made his New York debut on April 5, appearing as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Chicago Fire. After a tough start to his MLS career, by the end of the season Johnson emerged as a key player for the Red Bulls.

Johnson has respresented Costa Rica at various levels. He was a member of Costa Rica's U-17 World Cup team in 2001, appearing in all 4 matches. He also debuted for the full national team in 2006, and has participated in Costa Rica's 2010 World Cup qualification campaign.
