Carlos Luciano Araujo (born November 19, 1981 in Mendoza, Mendoza Province) is an Argentine football defender.

Carlos Araujo started his career at Independiente de Rivadavia in 2000. At his next stage, Atletico Rafaela, he participated in his team's success to win the B League Apertura 2002 and the subsequent B League Clausura 2003, so promoting to the Primera Division. Before moving to Greek Superleague giants AEK Athens he played in major Argentine clubs, including Estudiantes de La Plata, Newell's Old Boys, and Huracán^[2]. After a very successful season with Huracán, Carlos Araujo decided to take the big step to Europe in the summer of 2009.

Aruajo was cited as the "best right back in Argentina" by his former Huracan coach^[3] whilst his present transfer is described by a journalist as a "key player loss" for Huracan^[4].

Carlos Araujo signed a 3 year contract with AEK Athens on August,18th, 2009^[5]. AEK Athens signed Araujo as a free agent. In his last interview Araujo also stated that this was a huge opportunity for his career and that playing in Europe was a dream for him. Araujo is the fifth argentinian AEK Athens player. The others are Sebastian Saja, Nacho Scocco, Nicolas Bianchi Arce and Ismael Blanco.
