Calais Racing Union FC (Calais RUFC) is a French football club based in Calais, France. Calais will compete in the CFA 2 for the 2009-10 season after being relegated from the Championnat National finishing 18th in the 2008-09 season. This would normally mean relegation to the CFA, but on Thursday 14th of July, 2009, it was announced by the DNCG that Calais RUFC had been relegated to the CFA 2 due to administrative reasons. CRUFC played their first match in their new Stade de l'Epopée on Saturday September 27 2008, going down 1-4 to Laval in a Championnat National match. Calais are currently 1st in the CFA 2, with 21 games remaining.

Calais RUFC entered the international spotlight during their fairytale run to the final of the 2000 Coupe de France. Made up of teachers, dock workers and office clerks, Calais' remarkable run saw the team defeat first division powers Racing Strasbourg and Bordeaux^[1]. They eventually lost 2-1 to Nantes in a close match, but their mere presence in the final was an epic achievement for an amateur club.
