CNBC Africa is a television service for Sub-Saharan Africa which was launched by CNBC and Africa Business News Limited on June 1, 2007.[1] CNBC Africa is headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Initially, CNBC Africa will have bureaus in Nairobi (Kenya), Abuja and Lagos (Nigeria), Cape Town (South Africa) and London. The channel will produce 9 hours local programming per business day.[2] CNBC Africa will be anchored by Bronwyn Nielsen, Byron Kennedy, Alishia Naidoo, Leigh Roberts, Peter Ndoro, Lerato Mbele, Nikiwe Bikitsha and Mandlakazi Mpahlwa. The channel will also feature programmes and updates from CNBC Europe, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, the US and other CNBC affiliates around the world.

For the launch of the channel on 1 June CNBC Africa broadcast an 1hr interview with The president of the Republic of South Africa. This interview could be watched by viewers in Africa, Europe and US (with CNBC WORLD).

CNBC Africa took many openings from its sister nework CNBC Europe, but some of them are produced by th network. CNBC Africa and CNBC Arabiya uses the same ticker and graphic package, for that CNBC Africa may be a CNBC Europe branch.
