BusinesSuites was founded in 1989 in Austin, Texas by Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of late president Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson, and her husband Ian J. Turpin. The Company began growing aggressively in 2002, when it acquired and opened several locations in Maryland and Nevada, including several acquired from The Rouse Company. Since 2002, the Company has continued growing in these markets as well as its home state of Texas and added locations in Virginia in 2007 and 2008.

BusinesSuites was recognized in 2009 by Dell/NFIB for its 6th Annual Small Business Excellence Award, "differentiating itself among a record-breaking 3,000 applicants," according to the Dell Press Release.
