Brooktree is an American company founded in 1983 by Henry Katzenstein to commercialize his new architecture for digital to analog converters that was 3-8 times better than the competition at the time. Brooktree was bought by Rockwell Semiconductors in 1996, which became Conexant in 1998. [1] Brooktree is well known for their PCI video capture chipsets like the Bt848 and Bt878. These were frequently used by Hauppauge. [edit] See also[edit] References
