[edit] History

The Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club is located in Brooklyn, New York. It is the vision of the organization to educate the youth of Brooklyn, and surrounding areas, with the opportunity to participate in organized travel soccer. Brooklyn Italians emphasizes instruction, and education, on basic and advanced soccer skills, structured team play, sportsmanship, character building, leadership and a sense of fair play. Through supervision by qualified coaches, coupled with these ideals, they hope to be competitive on the field of play and provide a framework for success in education and other endeavors as the youth develop. All teams play in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) of Eastern New York. This offers an opportunity to play a competitive schedule, that gives wide exposure to the highest levels of the youth game. To date, Brooklyn Italians has won two U.S. Open Cup, the first in 1979 and for the second time 1991. Today, the competition is now known as the "Lamar U.S. Open Cup".
