Brian Roberts (born August 28, 1982 in Los Angeles, California) is an American soccer player who last played defender for the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. Roberts played college soccer at Yale University from 2000 to 2003; as a sophomore and a junior, he was named second-team All-Ivy, and as a senior he was named to the first team. In addition, he started every Yale game during his four year career at the school. Upon graduating, Roberts went undrafted, but was signed as a developmental player by the Wizards. The team promptly loaned him to the A-League's Minnesota Thunder, where he spent all of the 2004 season. With the Thunder, he appeared in 16 games, playing 1172 minutes from a fullback position, garnering one assist. Following the 2006 season, Roberts retired as a player and joined the Wizards front office as an executive for youth sales. In late 2008, Roberts came out of retirement to lead the 3rd Floor, Front Office team in a very unsuccessful attempt in defeating the 5th floor. After a crushing 5-0 defeat, Roberts decided that his boots were better left on the wall.[1] Despite his latest retirement from soccer, Roberts has recently announced that he will be returning to the playing field. This time as a member of the 3rd Floor Flag Football Team that has been constructed by legendary player/coach Shayne Donohue specifically for the destruction of the Fifth Floor. Donohue has made a name for himself most notably for his best-selling novel "Relationship Based Selling" which has inspired many Account Executives around the nation to adapt a consultant's approach to ticket sales. When asked about the possibility of having to implement the mercy rule against the Fifth Floor, Roberts replied, "All good teams play one or two games a year against lesser opponents as a confidence booster. We would like to play a full game against the Fifth Floor, however, I refuse to ask our offense to score slower." On July 23, 2009 Roberts was released from his contract with the Kissick Construction Softball team. He had been a member of the team since 2007. Brian played in 6 games in 2009 and was late for all 6 games. [edit] External links. Roberts is currenty employed by Lockton Companies [edit] Notes
