Brian Bell (born February 13, 1959 in Brandon, Manitoba) is a retired professional ice hockey player defenceman. Brian's father and mother moved from Edinburgh, Scotland shortly before he was born and lived in the small rural community of Deloraine, Manitoba. He grew up living with his uncle and aunt on their farm in Deloraine, as his father was required to return to Scotland. He began his hockey career playing for the Winnipeg Jets organization following a brief stint with the Flin Flon Bombers. He signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL hockey organization as a free agent in 1982, but his hockey career was short lived. He appeared in 79 hockey games in 1982–1984 and scored a total of six goals. Mid way through his second season he suffered a neck injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the season. He decided to retire from his career early following his injury and went on to pursue other interests.
