Garrabrant Ryerson Alyea (born December 8, 1940) was a Major League Baseball outfielder from 1965 to 1972. In 1970, while playing for the Minnesota Twins, Alyea had two 7 RBI games, on April 7 and on September 7. Originally signed by the Cincinnati Reds, Alyea was drafted a year later by the Washington Senators. Alyea made his major league debut on September 12, 1965. Called to the plate as a pinch hitter, Alyea hit a homerun off Rudy May of the Los Angeles Angels on the first pitch of his first at-bat.[1] Alyea had his best season in 1970. He appeared in 94 games, batting .291 with 16 homeruns and 61 runs batted in. [edit] See also[edit] References
