Brandon Edward Medders (born January 26, 1980 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama) is a Major League Baseball relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. He throws a 4-seam fastball, curveball, slider, and a cutter. Medders debuted for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2005, going 4–1 with a 1.78 ERA and 31 strikeouts. He was dominant in 2006, his first full year in the majors as he had an ERA of 3.64 in 60 relief appearances. In 2007, however, Medders began to face inconsistency and was optioned to Triple-A on June 8. He had an ERA of 4.84, going 1–2 with a blown save. Brandon was recalled September 1, 2007, when the rosters expanded. He became a free agent at the end of the 2008 season and signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with the San Francisco Giants. At the end of the 2009 Spring Training it was announced that Medders made the opening day roster.
