A 6'8", 240 lb (110 kg). power forward from LSU, Bass was selected by the Hornets in the 2nd round (33rd overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft. He originally declared for the draft after his freshman season in 2004 but ultimately withdrew his name[1] and returned to college. In 2005 he again declared for the draft after his sophomore season at LSU, where he was named the 2005 SEC Player of the Year. On July 10, 2009, Bass signed a contract with the Orlando Magic.[5] The deal is believed to be worth $18 million for four years.[6]
