During that span, he struck out 38 batters while issuing only 16 bases on balls.

Adam Carr (born April 1, 1984, in Felton, California) is a North American professional baseball player. A graduate of San Lorenzo Valley High School, he is a right-handed pitching prospect in the Washington Nationals organization.

Carr spent the 2006 season with the GCL Nationals, Washington's affiliate in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League, and with the Savannah Sand Gnats in the low-class-A South Atlantic League. He accrued an earned run average of 3.38 in 16 total relief appearances with the two clubs.

Graham Hicks (born February 9, 1990 in Lakeland, Florida) is a left-handed starting pitcher in the Washington Nationals baseball organization and is currently pitching for the Short-Season Class A Vermont Lake Monsters. The Nationals selected him in the fourth round (121st pick overall) in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. [1] Hicks signed for $475,000 on August 11, 2008 and was assigned to its Gulf Coast League team. [2]

Before signing with the Nationals, Hicks played for George W. Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida. During his senior season in 2008, he made the Class 5A All-State first team, going 8–1 with a 0.24 ERA in 59 innings. He struck out 81 batters, while walking 13 and giving up only two earned runs. [3]

Hicks made his first professional start on August 26, 2008, pitching for GCL Nationals against the GCL Mets. He pitched two innings, allowing one hit while striking out two batters. [4] A 2008 scouting report says, "He consistently touched the upper-80s this spring with his fastball, and has a very good curveball and developing changeup. Hicks throws from a three-quarters release point and stays over his curveball well, giving it hard downward bite. He’s shown the ability to throw strikes with all his pitches and has an idea how to work hitters."[5]

[edit] Cole Kimball

Cole A. Kimball (born August 1, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York) is a North American professional baseball player. He is a right-handed pitching prospect in the Washington Nationals organization. A graduate of Hackettstown High School in Hackettstown, New Jersey, Kimball first attended St. John's University in New York, before transferring to Centenary College of New Jersey and was selected by the Nationals in the 12th round of the 2006 amateur draft[6].

He was subsequently promoted to the low-A-level Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League. In 2007 he played on Potomac Nationals, a high A team where he hit third spot and played first base.
