Brad Evans (born 20 April 1985 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer.

[edit] College and Amateur

Evans played college soccer at the University of California, Irvine, and also with Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League.

In 2008 Evans helped Columbus Crew to their first MLS Cup title as the team's starting defensive midfielder. On November 26, 2008, Evans was selected by Seattle Sounders FC in the tenth round of the 2008 MLS Expansion Draft. [1] Evans started the first match in Seattle Sounders FC history against the New York Red Bulls, in the 24th minute of that game, Evans scored a nutmeg on New York keeper Danny Cepero, finishing off a beautiful pass from Fredy Montero that split New Yorks defense.

He was a member of the national side team that competed at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Holland in 2005, coming on as a substitute against Germany and starting at right back against Egypt. Evans was selected for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup for the United States.

Evans was born to parents Dawn and Tom Grippando. His family consists of one brother and two sisters. Evans attended University of California, Irvine and majored in social sciences with a minor in education. [2]
