This article is about the American golfer. For information about the American author of children’s books, see Bonnie Bryant. Bonnie Bryant (born October 5, 1943) is an American professional golfer, the only player in LPGA history to win a tournament left-handed. Bryant was born in Tulare, California. Her rookie season was in 1971. She didn't take up golf until age 20, learning from Vic Lombardi, a National League pitcher for Brooklyn and Pittsburgh. Prior to taking up golf, she played five years of AAA-fast pitch softball. She won the 1974 Bill Branch LPGA Classic with a five-under-par 67 for the $5,700 first prize. She also tied for 2nd in a five-way sudden death playoff at the 1979 LPGA Coca-Cola Classic (won by Nancy Lopez). [edit] References
