The Blue Angels Motorcycle Club (BAMC) is a one-percenter motorcycle club that was formed by Tommy Howells, Lenny Reynolds and Alan Morrison in [[Glasgow], Scotland]] in 1963.[citation needed] "Blue" stands for Bastards, Lunatics, Undesireables and Eccentrics but the name also spawned from other sources; blue is the main colour of the Scotland flag.[1] The members originally wore blue denim jackets with the sleeves cut off, and drove sky blue Triumph Nortons.[citation needed] The Blue Angels are one of the largest motorcycle clubs in the United Kingdom, only falling behind the Hells Angels, Outlaws and Satans Slaves (which along with the Blue Angels is the only 1% club to have chapters and wear colours in Scotland)..[1]

The Blue Angels are the oldest MC in Europe and there are now chapters throughout Scotland and in Leeds[1] and York, England and Antwerp, Ghent and Limburg, Belgium.[citation needed] These chapters were established as members of the club regularly take trips through Northern and Central Europe.[citation needed] The club's insignia consists of a skull wearing a Nazi Army helmet (sometimes with a Swastika or a national flag on the side) and golden wings coming out from the side.

[edit] Criminal activities

On January 16, 2008, Blue Angels member Paul Miller was charged with attempted murder after shooting motorcycle shop owner Andrew Malham in the stomach. A number of Blue Angels drove to Thundercity Motorcycles in Leeds, England where they caused property damage and threatened several people before attacking Malham and leaving.[2][3]
