Blake Bjorklund (born on September 8, 1985) is a stock car racer from Isanti, Minnesota and currently resides in Kannapolis, North Carolina. His parents are Craig and Diane Bjorklund. In addition to racing in NASCAR, he has also raced snowmobiles - although his passion truly lies in stock car racing[1]. His primary series is the Camping World Truck Series and he drives for the Haas CNC Racing team (now Stewart Haas Racing and under the partial ownership of NASCAR veteran Tony Stewart). During the 2007 season, he drove a Chevrolet Silverado for MRD Motorsports. Steve Genenbacher was his crew chief for his stay at the former Haas CNC Racing team[2]. Before his venture into NASCAR, Bjorklund raced in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, a proving ground for future stars of NASCAR. He made a run for Rookie of the Year with Country Joe Racing, a team well known for developing young and winning talents such as Joey Miller and Ryan Hemphill. Although he failed to qualify for the Nashville race, he bounced back with poles at Berlin and Milwaukee and earned his first career victory at Salem Speedway, passing ARCA legend Frank Kimmel with 2 laps to go. Bjorklund also earned the Bill France Triple Crown award for the three dirt tracks on the ARCA schedule. In 2009, Bjorklund attempted to qualify for the 2009 Meijer 300 race at Kentucky Speedway (Sparta, Kentucky).[3] However, he failed to qualify with a speed of 168.235 miles per hour and his fastest lap time being 32.098 seconds.[3] [edit] References
