Blackbaud Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium located on Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina, that opened in 1999. Charleston Battery call Blackbaud Stadium home. Its nickname is Battery Park. Blackbaud Stadium seats 5,100 people, mostly in two large stands on either side of the field. The stadium is modeled on smaller, lower-division English soccer stadiums. It features an on-site pub, called "The Three Lions". In early 2008 the Battery announced a plan to convert much of the stadium to solar energy. [1] The panels are said to offset as much as 12 tons of carbon dioxide per annum. Blackbaud Stadium is named for the Blackbaud Software Company, which is based adjacent to the stadium.
