Biz may also mean business. Biz is a "stain-activated booster" for washing laundry. Made by Redox Brands, Biz is available in both liquid and powder form. It is an enzyme-based bleach that breaks down proteins in a way that ordinary chemical bleach and detergent do not. In addition, the product is often used in a non-laundry context for cleaning the tissue off bones, particularly skulls that have interior cavities difficult to scour by mechanical action. Biz is recommended by the Alaska state government[1] and the FBI[2]. Biz was invented in 1968 by Charles McCarty, a researcher at Procter & Gamble[3]. P&G sold the brand in 2000 to Redox Brands, a marketing company based in the metro Cincinnati area founded by former Procter & Gamble employees. Redox also owns the former P&G laundry detergent Oxydol. [edit] References[edit] External links
