Bharat Shah is a diamond merchant and notable Hindi film financer. He is most noted for producing the superhit film Devdas starring Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai. In 2001, he was convicted for his links with mafia don Chhota Shakeel and was sentenced to one year in prison.^{[citation needed]}
