Ben McEvoy (born 11 July 1989) is an Australian rules footballer for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). [edit] AFL careerHe was recruited as the number 9 draft pick in the 2007 AFL Draft from Murray U/18. He made his debut for St Kilda against Fremantle. McEvoy is a strong marking ruckman/key forward who is a good goalkicker. McEvoy averaged seven marks per game in NAB AFL U18 Championships, winning him All-Australian honours. He is touted as an agile player with great endurance, he is also an AIS/AFL Academy graduate. McEvoy Capped off a fine year by winning the Murray Bushrangers best and fairest award for season 2007. McEvoy, consistently in the best players for VFL affiliate Sandringham, played his second AFL game against Collingwood to replace the injured Steven King. McEvoy played in 11 of 22 matches in the 2009 AFL Premiership Season Home & Away Rounds where the St Kilda Football Club qualified in first position for the 2009 AFL Finals Series, winning the club’s 3rd Minor Premiership.[1] [edit] References
