Bekir started off his footballing career with the Gaziantepspor youth team. He then later had stints with Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor before returning to Gaziantepspor in the year 2003. He promoted to team captain in Gaziantepspor.

After seven years of service at Gaziantepspor, Bekir was transferred to Turkish Giants Fenerbahce S.K. on June 8, 2009. ^[1]

Bekir made his international début for Turkey U19, earning himself 3 caps. He was then promoted to the U21 squad where he has been capped 8 times.
