Beena Kak is a politician and a Bollywood actress. She is graduated from Home Science College, Udaipur in 1978. Her sister Kamla Bhasin is a writer and woman activist, while her brother B.B. Bhasin a retired IPS officer now the chairman of All India Handicarft Board.

She is 4th time M.L.A. in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Sumerpur constituency. She is currently Cabinet minister of Woman & Child Development, Tourism, Art & Culture, Archeology, Printing & Stationery departments. She was also the he Minister of State for Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Rajasthan from 1998 to 2003.

She is close to Salman Khan's family. As a Bollywood actress, she made her debut in David Dhawan's 2005 film Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, where she acted as the hot-headed mother of Samir (Salman Khan). She recently appeared in the multi-starrer Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love. In 2008 appeared as Salman Khan's mother once again in God Tussi Great Ho.. She has also acted in Nanhe Jaisalmer. Her daughter Amrita Kak has sung the super hit songs like Just Chil.. and Tujhe Aksha Beach..
