Beawar (or Nayanagar) is a town in the Rajasthan state of India. It is a small but prosperous town situated amidst aravali hills. It is an important centre of trade, especially in raw cotton, and had cotton presses and the Krishna cotton mills. It is the second largest centre of wool trade and also second largest producer of carpet grade woollen yarn in India. Besides this the food processing industry is also well developed. Other industries of the town includes masala, mineral based units, machine based units, machine tools and accessories, pre-stressed concrete pipes, plastic products, textiles, wooden furniture and asbestos cement pipes. It is the largest producer of cement in northern India and home to Shree cement. It is also mineral rich and has reserves of felspar, quartz, asbestos, soapstone, magnesitie, calcite, limestone, mica, emerald, granite, and masonry stone. Fairly good reserves of barytes fluorit, wolastonite and vermiculite have also been found. Beawar is well known and famous for the sweet "tilpatti". It was first discovered in beawar in the year 1938 by Shri Ramdhan Ji. Their well known shop for this sweet is "Ramdhan & sons". The best time to get this sweet is from October to March because it's a sweet of winter season. Air transport facility is not available in the city. The nearest airport is Jaipur at a distance of 190 km.

Beawar was founded by Colonel Dixon in 1835. Beawar is a town of British India, the administrative headquarters of Merwara district in Ajmere Merwara. It was founded as a treaty between the Mewars and the British. It is 53 kilometres from Ajmer, with a 1901 population of 21,928. Beawar is situated at a strategic location in Rajasthan, India. The city was founded in 1836 as a military cantt, at an important location between the royal states of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. It was named after a local village called Beawar Khas. It meets all the requirement of becoming a district and in near future it will be one.

For higher education GCB or Govt. College Beawar co-educational and Savitri kanya mahavidhyalaya (only Females) are couple of important colleges .Students from far towns and villages are getting benefited specially from district border villages Pipliya Kalan(Pali),Barr(Pali) and Sendra (Pali).

Baba Ramdev ji Beawer Fair is very famous among tourists and after Holi Locals of beawar gathers to celebrate "Baadshah" which means "King",here one who with the highest bid for Holi colors becomes city Mayor for one day and commence new development program for the city.whilst the Baadshah travel across the town to reach Mayor's office he sprays the color all over the town and paint the town Red to celebrate the festival of colors Holi

As of 2001 India census, Beawar had a population of 223,701. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Beawar has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. The people of Beawar are religiously tolerant and Hindus, Muslims and Christians live with harmony with each other. With people getting modernised, increase in inco and new malls and a multiplex soon to come up this small town is a clear cut example of India poised. Beawar has a good temples such as Neel Kanth Mahadev (Lord Shiva),Balaji Maharaj (Hanuman) at Sree Cement .
