Bandung Regency next to Bandung City in West Java

Bandung Regency (Kabupaten Bandung) is the suburban area located at south, southeast and east the city of Bandung, part of the Bandung Metropolitan Area. It is part of the Indonesian province of West Java, about 75 miles south of Jakarta. Soreang is the capital of the regency.

It occupied an area of 2,000.91 km² and 4,134,504 people in 2005, with a density of 2,066 people/km².^[1] before it split off West Bandung Regency. For the Hasil Survei Sosial Ekonomi Daerah 2007 after the split, 3,038,038 was the population.

Bandung regency has an impressive stadium, the best and well known in West Java Province, it its the Si Jalak Harupat stadium, the home base stadium for Persikab and Pelita Jaya Jawa Barat the two soccer team from this region. A representative athletic track were located in Pangalengan.

This area has a unique cuisine, such as Milk Caramels (in Pangalengan), Fresh Milk (in Pangalengan), Milk Snack (in Pangalengan), Bandrek (in Ciwidey), Borondong (in Majalaya)

Transport to Bandung Regency mainly is from Bandung Cities. No major bus terminal, major train station or even an airport was located in this region. Traditional transport such as Delman (horse passenger carriage) were heavily located in Banjaran sub district.
