Ballinderry railway station (Irish: Baile an Doire) served Upper Ballinderry in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, but is currently closed to passengers. The station is located on the Knockmore to Antrim line, which was closed when a faster Belfast - Antrim route (via Bleach Green) was re-opened. Translink claimed that they were unable to maintain two routes to Antrim and after operating a skeleton service on the route announced that it would be mothballed. The line could be revived under plans to operate a Belfast - Lisburn - Antrim - Belfast circular route. Recently NIR removed the passing loop here and they also removed the one at Crumlin to make the line one big long siding. Ballinderry station opened on 13 November 1871.[1]
