}} BBC South is the BBC English Region serving West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, western Berkshire, Oxfordshire, south east Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.

BBC South's television output (broadcast on BBC One) consists of its flagship regional news service BBC South Today, the opt-out service BBC Oxford News (for viewers served by the Oxford transmitter), the topical magazine programme Inside Out and a 20-minute opt-out during the weekly Politics Show. They produce eastenders, lark rise to candleford and formerlley the cathrin tate show.

The region is the controlling centre for local radio stations BBC Radio Solent, BBC Oxford and BBC Radio Berkshire.

Radio Solent broadcasts 24 hours a day whilst BBC Oxford and Radio Berkshire broadcast between 5am and 1am with local programming broadcast between 5am and 7pm on weekdays. The three stations carry networked programming with the two stations in the BBC South East region every evening (with the exception of Radio Berkshire on Sunday night).

BBC South also produces regional news & local radio pages for Ceefax and local BBC Where I Live websites for each county.

The regional headquarters and television centre is in Southampton, with local radio and television studios also in Oxford and Reading.

Prior to moving to the current purpose-built studios in the 1990s, BBC South was for many years based at South Western House - a former grand hotel set up to cater for first class passengers using the trans-atlantic liners from Southampton and latterly used as a military HQ during the planning of the D-day landings.
