Azfar-ul-Ashfaque is an investigative journalist associated with Pakistan's leading English language newspaper, Dawn. Earlier, he was associated with daily The News.

Born in Karachi, he started his career from a wire service, Pakistan Press International, and later joined The News in 2002. He had also worked for Khaleej Times.

He has written various investigative articles on the criminal justice system in Pakistan. Other topics include al-Qaeda, the Taliban, militant outfits in Pakistan, transport, and law enforcement agencies. Now in Dawn, he covers mostly the affairs of the various political parties and the government.
