Azahara Muñoz (born 19 November 1987) is a professional golfer from Spain.
[edit] Amateur careerAzahara Muñoz had a successful amateur career. She won the 2002 Spanish Amateur title, the 2004 Girls' British Open Championship, was 2009 Ladies British Amateur Champion and runner-up at the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur as well aS being a member of Europe's Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2002, 2003, and 2005. As an Arizona State Sun Devil she became the 2008 NCAA Individual Champion by making a 25-putt in the first hole of a playoff against UCLA's Tiffany Joh and was the 2008 and 2009 Edith Cummings Munson Award Recipient (first ever double winner). She was also 2006-2008 NGCA Academic All-American, 2006-2009 First-Team All-Pac-10, 2006-2007 NGCA Second-Team All-American, 2009 NGCA All-American and 2009 Pac-10 Scholar of the Year.[1] She majored in Psychology with a minor in Business and tourned professional 2 weeks prior to the first stage of LPGA Qualifying School.
