ALHS has achieved "excellent" ratings on the Ohio State Report Card.^[1] Currently, ALHS is a nationally ranked high school (silver level).^{[citation needed]}

The football program has won 23 SWC titles.^{[citation needed]} In 2003, the Shoremen won the state Division II Football championship^{[citation needed]} after beating Trenton Edgewood 10-7 to complete an undefeated season.^{[citation needed]}

The school has also become a top ranked tennis high school in Ohio.^{[citation needed]} In 2006, the power doubles team won the Division I state championship.^{[citation needed]} The team has also won four consecutive SWC titles.^{[citation needed]}
