Aviogenex is an experienced charter airline based in Belgrade, Serbia. It operates regular and ad hoc charter flights, as well as aircraft wet-lease services. Its main base is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.[1]

Aviogenex, an air charter company from Serbia, has more than 40 years of worldwide experience in flying under charter, sub charter and wet lease agreements. Aviogenex was founded in April 1968 as an air transport division of Generalexport, an enterprise for foreign and domestic trade, tourism and air transport.[1] On April 30th 1969 Aviogenex operated its first flight from Belgrade to Dusseldorf on a Tu-134 aircraft.

Aviogenex achieved its greatest result in 1990, when the airline flew 633,932 passengers, with 10 aircraft (5 aircraft B727 and 5 B737) reaching 17000 flight hours per year. [2] Since 1991 Aviogenex has oriented to leasing of aircraft and crews, and achieved more than 40000 flight hours. In this period Aviogenex has operated all over Europe, Africa, Middle and Far East, South America...

Aviogenex has direct operational experience in over 40 countries in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia. Aviogenex has been providing charter, sub charter and wet lease agreements (leasing its aircraft along with flight crew, operational and technical personnel) all over the world.

Aviogenex has lot of experience in:

  • Europe: under call sign Caledonian, Britannia Airways, Transaero, Ukraine international, Olympic Airways etc.
  • Africa: under call sign Egypt Air, Air Africa, Air Gabon, Air Zimbabwe, Nigeria Airways, Sudan Air, Air Express etc.
  • Middle and Far East: with Malaysia Airlines, Royal Nepal, President Airlines from Cambodia, etc.

In the last 10 years Aviogenex has created several airlines:

  • Chanchangi Airlines from Nigeria
  • Avioimpex from FYR of Macedonia
  • Air Express from Tanzania etc.

Today Chanchangi Airlines carry more than 2,500 passengers per day with several certifications as the best domestic airline of the year.

Aviogenex is planning on renewing its fleet in the near future through privatization or strategic partnership.

Today, Aviogenex is certified under EASA regulations and owns a B737-200 Stage III aircraft. With highly qualified pilots and a team of experienced technical experts to guarantee safety. Aviogenex' Airline Operator Certificate (AOC) was renewed in September 2009 by Serbian CAD under EASA regulation, promoting Aviogenex as the first airline holding this certificate in the region.

Aviogenex has the ability to provide aircraft and crew at very short notice. The company is experienced in organizing and operating special VIP flights and humanitarian aid cargo flights.

Long standing experience qualifies Aviogenex for rendering the following services:

  • International and domestic charter operations
  • Leasing out the aircraft with or without crew and technical personnel (Wet or Dry Lease)
  • Rendering services in the field of transfer of technology/know-how and logistic support
  • AGX Engineering Dept. is entitled to maintain Boeing B727-200 and B737-200 aircraft, all the way to "B"-check level, and to operate certain maintenance facilities (workshops) for its own needs and for the needs of others
  • Aviogenex has its own Training Center approved by the Ministry for Transportation of the Republic of Serbia for the education and training of its flight and ground staff, cockpit and cabin crew.
  • Carriage of cargo and special cargoes
  • Ad-hoc transport arrangements for special purposes (artistic tours, football matches, VIP flights etc)

Aviogenex has developed strong ties with various travel agencies and airlines across the world during its long history.

Currently the company maintains close partnerships with Jat Airways and DHL Express. Future plans include getting involved in business relationships with local travel agencies.

[edit] Operating for JatAirways

Aviogenex and Jat Airways agreed to extend wet-lease agreement adding Aviogenex’ B737 to Jat Airways’s fleet operating scheduled and non-scheduled flights across Europe. During this and previous year Aviogenex already operated under the same agreement and covered different destinations across Europe on scheduled flights (London, Rome, Milan, Athens, Stockholm, Moscow, Copenhagen, Skopje, Podgorica, Tivat ….) and non-scheduled flights (Monastir, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurgada, Bodrum, Donetsk, Zakynthos…).

[edit] Quality and Safety

Aviogenex quality system is based on ISO 9002 and is in accordance with EU-OPS regulations, which provide systematic support in helping it achieve quality safety objectivities, and in endeavors to constantly improve safety-relevant processes.

The training and further training of Aviogenex personnel are subject to the strict observance of all relevant international and Serbian safety regulations. Aviogenex implements a Safety Management System that is fully integrated between Aviogenex AOC, Part M and EASA Part 145 Approvals.

Through year 2009 Aviogenex successfully passed several SAFA inspections on different international airports.

Aviogenex pays special attention to technical maintenance of aircraft. Having complied with the relevant conditions, Aviogenex obtained authorizations to maintain aircraft in line with Part-145 of European Regulations. Its Engineering Department is entitled to maintain Boeing B737-200 aircraft, all the way to "B"-check level, and to operate certain maintenance facilities (workshops) for its own needs and for the needs of others.

Aviogenex operates under the most stringent standards for safety and security. All pilots are ATP-rated and type-rated and pass comprehensive series of technical and psychological tests.

The Company Training Manual is approved in part D of Operations Manual. The Training Department keeps all licenses up-to-date and maintains all flight crew members trained in required and necessary safety, security and human resources skills.

The Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia's approval for Type Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) is in process, and is expected by the end of 2009.
