Augusto Matías Fernández (born 10 April, 1986 in Pergamino) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward midfielder, for AS Saint-Etienne on loan from River Plate.

Fernández has also played in River Plate's football team since 2006 with a debut against Tiro Federal. On 28 August 2009 after Gonzalo Bergessio, another Argentinian player joins AS Saint-Etienne this summer, the young midfielder arrives on loan from River Plate.[2]
