[edit] Playing career

While attending Kiama High School in 2002, Sims was selected to play for the Australian Schoolboys team.[1] He played his junior football for the Gerringong Lions. Sims made his first grade debut against the Penrith Panthers in round 9 of the 2003 season.

[edit] St. George-Illawarra career

Sims played for St George-Illawarra from 2003-2007. The Dragons chose not to renew Sims contract and he signed with the Brisbane Broncos for 3 seasons from 2008.

[edit] Brisbane Broncos career

Sims made his Brisbane Broncos debut in the Round 1, 2008 clash against reigning wooden spooners, the Penrith Panthers, in the 48-12 win. In the Semi Final that year against Melbourne, Sims dropped the ball one minute and twenty seconds before the siren sounded, following a hit by Israel Folau and Sika Manu. The Broncos went on to lose the game 16–14 in the final minute, following a try to Greg Inglis.

[edit] Representative career

In October of 2008, Sims was named in the Fiji squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup[2] and was later confirmed for the final squad. He was in the starting line-up for all four of Fiji's games, playing in the second row for each game.[3]
