Ashley Gibson is a rugby league player who plays for Leeds Rhinos and has also represented England. He is one of only seven players to score a hat-trick of tries, on their debut for Leeds (the others being Bryan Adams, David Smith, Eric Grothe, Sr., Cliff Lyons, Phil Ford and Marcus Bai. He signed for Leeds as a 16 year old from local Amateur club Stanningley where he was voted the best player in Leeds at his age for three years running. As an amateur he was mainly a Loose Forward and also started there for Leeds but was soon moved to Full Back in the u-18's competition. Soon after he made the transition from a Full Back to the Centre he is now. Ashley Gibson was ruled out for a long period in the 2007 season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against the Catalans Dragons. The 22-year-old is in discussions with Harlequins Rugby League as well as Huddersfield Giants over the potential move to the Galpharm Stadium ahead of the 2010 campaign. Castleford and Hull Kingston Rovers are also rumoured to be in the hunt for the Leeds star. [edit] External links
