"Area Codes" is a 2001 single off Ludacris's third album, Word of Mouf. It features Nate Dogg. The song's lyrics display the U.S. area codes for the women the singer meets in various places. The song was written by D. Davis, K. Hilson, J. Jones, R. Walters, and C. Bridges^[1] and was produced by Jazze Pha.^[2]

The song is humorous, light-hearted, and has a fast flowing pace. At five minutes and three seconds, it is the fifth-longest track on the album. The song was originally released on the soundtrack to Rush Hour 2.

It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #84 on July 14, 2001, reached the Top 40 at #31 on August 18, and peaked at #24 on September 8, 2001.

John Mayer did a short acoustic version in one of his live performances. However, he felt uncomfortable with using the word "hoes", and switched it to "shows in different area codes"^[3].
